Fat Tuesday Celebration

On Fat Tuesday (also known as Shrove Tuesday and Mardi Gras), we will celebrate our "last hurrah" before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday by having a pancake supper. Pancakes and sausages will be served. Troy Fischer will bring a jazz trio for the entertainment, which starts at 6:00 p.m.

 

Lent is a time of fasting and self-reflection. The reason we have a pancake supper is because foods such as fat and eggs were historically to be used up because of a restriction on them during the fasting associated with Lent.

 

A free will offering will be collected to cover the cost.
